Empowered Kidz Australia helps children grow into confident, resilient,
and capable individuals.
Does your child struggle with regulating emotions, identifying feelings, building confidence, making friends, or feeling anxious?
Are you finding it challenging to support them?
Our goal is to empower your child to be resilient and confident. We build self-esteem. We also teach them to deal with stress effectively.
We host LEGO Therapy Groups, Minecraft Social Skills Groups, and Life Skills Groups.
Lego Therapy Group
LEGO-Based Therapy is an exciting and engaging social development program that transforms the beloved medium of LEGO into a powerful tool for building essential social skills in a fun and interactive group setting.
Imagine the joy of watching children come together to create, collaborate, and communicate while playing with LEGO bricks. This unique therapy approach not only nurtures social interaction and turn-taking but also fosters a spirit of sharing and collaborative problem-solving. By targeting skills related to social interaction, language development, and motor coordination, LEGO-Based Therapy helps children thrive in
a supportive environment.
Why is LEGO so effective?
It taps into the natural enthusiasm that children have for LEGO, fuelling their motivation to engage with peers. Participants shine as they demonstrate their skills in a positive, social context, boosting their self-esteem. Moreover, the program provides valuable opportunities for guided social problem-solving, empowering children to apply their new skills in everyday situations.
Why Choose LEGO-Based Therapy?
It uses the magic of LEGO to enhance communication and
build lasting relationships.
Promotes dynamic social interactions and collaborative play
in a structured environment.
Focuses on key skills like emotional regulation, joint attention, social communication, turn-taking, and negotiation—all while working
toward a shared goal.

Minecraft Social Skills Club.
This club will focus on teaching social skills, emotional regulation, and executive functioning skills (by a special needs educator).
We use Minecraft Educational, in a secure domain with restricted access, for the kids to play and build on.
This group is focused on kids, 7-14 years.
Ages can vary, as I can modify their game to suit their age/ability.
What it is not: This is NOT gaming therapy or just for entertainment.
What it is: Our programs are thoughtfully designed by skilled
professionals to develop and strengthen the social and cognitive skills of neurodivergent children.
Our groups are run by an experienced educator with extensive experience in special needs education, who is currently pursuing a Master's in Developmental Education.
Assisted by a peer assistant, who is well-versed in Minecraft and can guide younger kids if they get stuck on their builds.
How and why: Conducted in a supportive and engaging environment, these sessions allow children to safely interact and connect with peers.
This safe, low-demand and highly engaging format not only encourages consistent participation but also enables personalised attention to each child's unique needs, fostering significant advances in
their social interactions.
Format: Icebreaker/game, explicit teaching of concept for that week (For example, anger (Emotional Regulation is a big component in our curriculum), then log into the Minecraft world provided by the facilitator for that week and follow the brief for that week, for example, build what anger looks like to you or problem-solving in the build.
Each week will be different but will follow sequentially and focus on your child’s goals and needs. Each world can be differentiated if needed, so even though they are all in the same world, their games can be made easier and more ability-focused or harder with different outcomes added in.
If your child is unwell and unable to attend for a week, they will be able to log in from home and complete the Minecraft component of the program.

Optional Add-On Support
Families can choose an optional add-on where a support worker or Therapy Assistant (TA) works with your child during the week to practise the skills covered in the workshop. This helps translate learning into real-world confidence and practical independence.
We also facilitate occasional supported community outings, allowing participants to practise skills in real-life settings with the support of two therapists at all times.
If funding does not allow, the workshop can still be completed as a standalone program.
We also host Mindfulness, Emotional Regulation, and Resilience Workshops. For more information, please contact us.
Should your child have a diagnosis of anxiety, please consult your GP to ascertain if our workshops would be suitable for your child. We are not medically qualified and do not provide medical advice.
Mindfulness Workshops
The Mindfulness workshops are held over 4 weeks and are hosted in a group format to encourage social skills, friendships, problem-solving, and confidence. We teach students mindfulness practices, strategies, and tools to help them build resilience and learn to manage their stress and anxiety.
Emotional Regulation Workshops
The Emotional Regulation Workshops are in a group format over ten weeks to encourage social skills, friendships, problem-solving, and confidence. We teach each child to identify the emotions they are feeling, to identify the zone they are in, and equip them with the skills to change zones and become regulated. These skills help them regulate their emotions daily and give them tips, tools, and practices to implement when they are struggling.
Resilience Workshops
The Resilience workshops are offered over 10 weeks in a group format to build friendships, problem-solving skills, and confidence. This is an introduction to building resilience and helping children to improve their self-esteem. We focus on what makes each person unique and teach children that there is no shame in making mistakes. We also teach daily gratitude practices and self-care.
